Country code remover API

The country code remover cleans a list of phone numbers so Indian mobiles line up before you import them.

Spreadsheets mix 9876543210, 09876543210, +91 98765 43210, and 91-9876543210 for the same person. A broadcast or an SMS list fails, or worse, sends twice, when those forms are treated as different contacts. The remover strips the country code and separators so you can see the national number and then add the code back in one consistent way.

Paste or submit the numbers, take the cleaned list, and check a sample by hand before you import. The tool does not know which numbers opted in. Cleaning a list is not permission to message it. Marketing templates on WhatsApp still need an opt-in, and SMS on Bulkwise is 13 paise per delivered message in India with no platform fee.

Do not upload a list you are not allowed to contact. Remove duplicates after the clean, and keep the original file so you can trace a complaint back to the source. The API is a formatter. It is not a consent record and it does not validate that a number is on WhatsApp.

Decide the stored format before you clean the file. Bulkwise and most Indian SMS routes want a country code on the way out, even if you stripped it to compare rows. A practical approach is to clean to the 10-digit mobile, drop duplicates, then prefix 91 once. Numbers that are not 10 digits after cleaning are landlines, extensions, or typos. Hold those out of the broadcast and fix them by hand. Keep a column for consent source and date next to the number. The formatter will not add that column, and you will need it the first time a customer asks why they were messaged. Import the cleaned file only after that column is filled. If a row has no consent date, leave it out of the first send and ask the customer again before you add them.
