WhatsApp chat widget
The chat widget is a button for your website that opens a WhatsApp chat with your business number.
Visitors who are already on your site should not have to hunt for a phone number. The widget stays on the page, uses the number you configure, and can pass a short prefilled message so the first chat says which page they came from. That is the same pattern Bulkwise uses when a marketing page offers a WhatsApp conversation.
Generate the snippet, set the number in international format, choose the label, and paste the snippet into the site footer or tag manager. Test it on the live page: the button should open WhatsApp, not a new blank tab that never returns, and the prefilled text should match the page. A widget on a page that is still a draft will not receive traffic.
The widget starts a conversation. It does not, by itself, give you the WhatsApp Business API, a shared inbox, or an approved template. Those live on the Bulkwise plan after Meta verifies the number. If the number is still on the consumer app only, the widget can still open a chat, and coexistence is the route that keeps that number on the Business app while the API is added.
Use the widget on pricing, product, and contact pages. Pair it with a clear next step: start a free trial for the API, or book a demo if you want the team to connect the number. Plans start at ₹2,500 a month. Paid onboarding is ₹2,500, self-serve setup is free, and a 3-month plan includes paid onboarding.
Open the widget builder, copy the snippet, and put it on one page first. When the chats should land in a shared inbox with bots and templates, move that number onto the Bulkwise WhatsApp API.
Place one widget, not a stack of competing chat buttons. A second button for a different product confuses the visitor and splits the conversation across two numbers you then have to staff. Write the prefilled message so the agent knows the page: pricing, a product, or a failed checkout. Keep the greeting short enough to read on a phone. Check the button on a narrow screen so it does not cover the form the visitor came to submit. If the site already loads the Bulkwise site widget, do not paste a second snippet into the same layout. After the number is on the API, replies from the widget can sit with Instagram, Messenger, SMS, email, and IVR in one inbox instead of only on one person’s phone.
